Cresson, Pennsylvania .........Station Inn ......... 814-886-4757

Despite its small town atmosphere, Cresson offers railfans many of the things they would find in a larger setting. There are four restaurants in town where you can watch trains while eating. Within walking distance there are two convenience stores: Sheetz and Sheehan's. Both have 24 hour food and gasoline.

A short walk from the Inn, The Heritage Park observation platform offers a track-level vantage point of the mainline and a close-up view of the engine terminal across the tracks. You will not wait very long for a train in Cresson; at least seventy trains and countless helper moves rumble past our front door daily.

Dragging equipment detectors and nearby signals provide ample warning of approaching trains. There are plenty of photo opportunities in Cresson. Cresson combines the quaintness of small town Pennsylvania with the raw power of diesel railroading.
