4 O’clock High Tea is no longer served at The Inn. A number of B&B guides have downgraded our 5 star rating because of this. Tea time is changed. We welcome imbibers of wine, beer and stronger waters to join us at 4:00 for an afternoon BYO gathering of serious railfans. Same time as Tea Time. But, now, a less formal exercise. Toast passing trains, share your triumphs, challenges and defeats with other railfans. Relax & enjoy. Complimentary chips and pretzels occasionally on hand.
The goal of The Inn is to provide pleasant accommodations for rail enthusiasts. Our bed and breakfast has five two-room suites upstairs. Two single rooms downstairs. All suites and rooms have a private bath. Most rooms have a view of the Mainline. Rooms have ceiling fans, desks, coffee makers, and alarm clocks. NOTE.. The Inn is not air conditioned. The 2,000 ft. elevation here, and ceiling fans in all rooms, insures a comfortable night’s rest. Be sure to bring a light jacket if you plan to railfan after sunset.
The Inn is a different B&B. It serves no home baked bread, no special jams or jellies. The Inn has few cozy or romantic characteristics. There are no farm animals in the back yard. Close to a busy railroad with significant rail traffic, The Inn offers a serious escape from everyday distractions.
A family style breakfast is served daily. Pancakes, omelets, sausage gravy on toast, baked oatmeal, toasted pork roll sandwich with egg make up the basic fare. Always on hand at breakfast…… orange juice, coffee, decaf, 8 varieties of tea, fresh fruit, English muffins, breakfast pastry, Sandy’s jam of the day, cornflakes, and ten other kinds of cold cereals.
Help yourself to complimentary soft drinks and spring water. Bottomless cookie jar and fresh fruit bowl nearby. We can accommodate the tastes of restricted foods dieters, weight loss dieters, and others with special needs. Advise us in advance of preferences or restrictions.
Complimentary WiFi. All rooms equipped with desk-top power strips. Excellent cell phone reception for most carriers. Exercise equipment & gym facilities are available nearby at No Excuses. Check with us before going to the gym.
